How do we ensure the quality of our work? In accordance with the standard DIN 15038, we comply with the following points for quality assurance:
1. Selection of suitable and highly qualified translators
All our employees are qualified with recognised, completed training as translators or interpreters (university degree, professional academy) and have several years' experience in the translation and/or interpreting profession. Many of our employees are also publicly appointed and certified or authorised as translators by German courts.
We select the most suitable translator for each text to be translated, i.e. the translator has proven experience in the translation of texts of the particular subject area. Our translators translate only into their native language.
Through regular advanced training, we ensure that our employees are not only equipped with the necessary high level of language proficiency, but also that they work with modern technical equipment and tools. We therefore work not only with several different word processing programmes, but also with a variety of CAT tools in order for us to meet your requirements.
2. Thorough planning
A timely delivery is just as important to us as it is to you. We therefore plan our translation projects with great care. We only promise delivery deadlines that are realistic and that can be adhered to. We can't do “by yesterday” - but by planning well, we can ensure that you get your translation back as soon as possible within an appropriate period of time. If you give us notice in good time that you require a translation and you send us the documents on the agreed date, we can thereby also ensure a short processing time.
3. Consistency, saving time and reducing costs
By working with modern CAT tools and glossaries, we can also ensure long-term consistency in our translations. This also saves time and keeps the costs down. If you remain loyal to us, we can “recycle” previous translations. This way, we can return your translations more quickly and at a lower cost.
4. Compliance to specifications
We will gladly take your specific requirements (terminology, style guidelines etc.) into account when working on projects, or we can jointly compile a glossary of your corporate language. Please inform us upon placing your order if particular terminology or language should be used, if special style guidelines should be applied, or if any other specifications should be taken into account. Otherwise, we shall work at our own discretion.
5. Two-way communication
You can also contribute towards achieving a high quality translation by providing our translators with reference material, such as terminology lists, glossaries, parallel texts, background material, Translation Memories, etc. You should also designate us a competent contact person who can assist us in clarifying any questions we may have. Through open and mutual communication, we can jointly achieve the best results.
6. Proofreading
Before being returned to the client, each translation is checked for the following: integrity, accuracy of content/terminology, correct spelling, correct grammar and punctuation, and adherence to agreements made with the client concerning the target text.
The thoroughness of the check is aligned to the agreement made with the client (e.g. translation by one person, translation by one person with proofreading of the translation by a second person, translation by one person with proofreading of the translation by a second person with a final check of the proofread text, etc.).
7. No use of machine translation and no postediting of MT
Since we attach great importance to top quality, we neither use Machine Translation Tools (MT) nor do we deal with the so-called postediting of MT translations. In our opinion, these do not provide best results. All our translations are handmade and tailored to your individual needs.
