- Project management
We also process translation projects in several languages. We will gladly take over the management of your multilingual project, be it marketing brochures, financial reports or online texts.
- Certified translations
We translate and certify birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, drivers' licences, references & certificates etc., i.e. documents that are to be officially recognised.
A certified translation may only be prepared by a translator who has been publicly appointed and certified before a regional court.
- Software & hardware localisation
We will comply with special requirements when it comes to the localisation of software & hardware, as well as of websites. We will translate not only all components of the user interface, but also the supporting documentation, online help or training material. We also hereby ensure that the interface and documentation are consistent with one another and that the particular requirements for the target language are considered, in order to take cultural differences into account.
- Proofreading and editing
Proofreading: We proofread texts that have already been translated. In doing so, we check the translation by comparing it with the source text in terms of integrity, accuracy, spelling, punctuation, style and content, and these are then optimised, if necessary.
Editing: We also edit texts in German or in foreign languages and check the spelling, punctuation, style and content, and optimise these if need be.
- Terminology research and management
In consultation with you, we will prepare glossaries and keep them up-to-date. We will of course then use these when preparing your translations in order to ensure consistency.
- Interpreting
This means the oral transmission of the spoken word into another language. There are different types of interpreting: Simultaneous interpreting (simultaneous interpreting using interpreting equipment), consecutive interpreting (interpreting is done after the speech or presentation) and liaison interpreting (the interpreter interacts between the partners holding a discussion).
- Transcription
We prepare transcripts of video or audio recordings in German or in a foreign language, e.g. of an interview. If desired, we will then translate the transcript into another language.
Which services do we not offer?
- Machine translation
- Editing translations from translation machines (so-called postediting)
Why not? Because it is frustrating for our highly qualified employees to have to correct translations such as the examples given below, and they end up spending more time with this than would be necessary to translate the text themselves:
The text to be translated: "Ich werde mich mit Ihnen wieder in Verbindung setzen und freue mich auf unsere Zusammenarbeit!"
The machine-generated translation: "I will sit down with you and reconnect and look forward to our cooperation!"
Using machine translations saves neither time nor money. The correction process is extremely costly and, as a result of the poor initial translation, leads to a loss of quality. This is because the proofreader will always attempt to keep as much of the suggested translation as possible instead of translating freely and fluently:
Possible final translation after postediting: "I will connect with you and look forward to our cooperation!"
Ideal translation: "I will be in touch and look forward to working with you!"
As our team of translators does not wish to make any compromises when it comes to quality, we do not offer this service.
